Santa brought 2 bikes to our house this Christmas for Ashley & Connor. Ashley got this cute little bike which she can BARELY fit onto and still touch the ground with her toes. Being her cautious little self it took us this long to convince her to try to ride a bike without training wheels. This week we finally convinced her to give it a try. She did really well. We had a few falls, but those were mostly because she could hardly touch the ground, so when she tried to stop they weren't the prettiest landings. She rode all the way down the street by herself and by today she was starting, stopping and making turns all by herself. We are so proud of her, she kept trying even after a couple of crashes into the bouganvillas, OUCH
Then there is Connor........... AKA Superman.
Then there is Connor........... AKA Superman. While I was teaching Ashley he kept BEGGING me to take his training wheels off. I asked him to just wait a couple of days so that we could just teach one kid at a time. I finally relented and took the training wheels off of his bike. He hopped on and said "Mom, like this" and took off. He needs no instruction. He started off by himself the very first try, turned at the corner, rode back to the house and stopped right in front of me. He is amazingly coordinated. The whole time he was riding he kept saying, "I can't believe a four year old can ride a two wheeler!" Me neither Connor, me neither. He rode the boys scooters when he was "1", the kid just knows how to do everything.
And now this is how we spend all of our time, in front of our house riding bikes. We rode to pick the kids up for school on the half day, rode over to the park, all around the park and then home again. And then later that day he was ready to go again until it was just getting too dark, he is the energizer bunny.

wow con con is amazing. Natalie just barely learned... poor girl no one bothered to teach her. i can see ashley being a little cautious, not always a bad thing thats for sure. i love hoe con con has like the huges most confident smile on his face, what a guy!
I can remember when I could ride a bike....yep, I can remember that long ago! Watch out for the Con-Man, I bet he'll be the one you spend time sitting in the ER with, waiting for stitches! LOL! I speak from personal experience!
I'm with Ashley, maybe it comes from our side of the family. I can't believe a 4 year old rides a two wheeler either. Wow! That's impressive.
Hahaha... Concon's a far cry from Dylan riding home after Kylee's party. Boy, he was a ball of fun, huh? I hope to teach Paige to ride without training wheels this summer.
Yeah, that was fun Stacey, but in his defense he did have 2 flat tires. But still!
I can't wait to see them go!!!!!
I'm so impressed! I'm still working on Ruthie - she's so totally scared to not have training wheels...any suggestions! Way to go Ashley & Conner!
So cute! .......wish I could do that!
such a fast learner! He is so good, I'll have to bring my bike over!
Love your IKEA stampin'room! Can you come do that to my "crap", errr, I mean "scrap"book room?
